  2. OD competencies refer to the set of competencies that OD practitioners use to achieve excellence in their respective fields. The OD competencies which are then categorized by several different competencies of OD. these competencies majorly include org. Behaviour, group dynamics, indidvidual psychology, management and org. Theory, research methods and statistics, cimparative cultural perspectives, functional knowledge of business etc. These competencies are said to have a huge impact on the future of OD in a way that these will bring about a postive chabge because of the major role they play. These competencies will help the practitioners to get to the root of issues and resolve them efficiently.

It seems that od practitioners will face a very busy future which is going to be full of challenges and opportunities. As we all know that it is essential for any organization to change in order to grow. The trends are rapidly going to increase with od practitioners having more chances of intervening with organizational change process and of building measurable and rewardable relationships with the employees. Also it is important for od practitioners to understand that they will not only play the role for HR but they will also have to integrate with the marketing and administrative functions of the organization in order to build a applicable framework.

  5. The future trends or skills of od practitioner can be into four major aspects that are intra-personal, interpersonal, general consultants skill and organization development theory.
    In intra personal skills od practitioner must have analytical and conceptual skill because od practitioner have to face complex or ambiguous information. They need to be personal centering i.e: they must know their own values and beliefs and integrity in working responsibly and in maintaining helping relationship. They must have learning skill and street management skills.
    In interpersonal skills od practitioner must have the ability to listen every member or subordinate about what they think about themselves and organization. They constantly should give and receive feedback from its subordinate. They should act in a way that they should behave credible to its organization members and counsel n coach them for the sake of organization development and change. They should also have negotiation skills.
    In general consultants skills od practitioner must have diagnosing skills because od starts with diagnosing problem and its causes. They should have the ability to design and execute an intervention. They must layout an action plan and constantly evaluate.
    In organization development theory od practitioner must have the knowledge about change theory, action research model and positive model change processes. They must have the ability to motivate, lead and influence organization members and ability to engage members into the change processes.

    Od competencies includes the skills and expertise required to bring change in the organization. The competencies include the interpersonal skills intrapersonal skills along with general management skills.
    The future trends of od competencies are more focusing towards skills of communication of od practitioner with client and the members of organization. As change or organization development can be brought by properly communicating the process with the client.
    Future trends of od also focusing on the process how the od is brought in an organisation by selecting the correct client and od practitioner or by having mutual understanding of both the parties. Future trend also focuses on giving timely feedback of the process carried out in od.
    Future trends of od are more focusing on entering and contracting both internal and external od practitioner to have better od in organization.

  8. There are four types of OD competencies which are as follows:
    1. Intrapersonal skills: The OD practitioner should have self awareness of his own work areas. He should be able to inquire in to one's self. He should be able to control himself in the stress situations.
    2. Interpersonal skills: The OD practitioner should be able to create and maintain effective relationships with individuals and groups and help them to gain skills to solve their own problems.
    3. General consultation skills: The OD practitioner should be able to consult about different programs in the organization, should know how to enter and contract and diagnose a problem.
    4. Organization development theory: The OD practitioner should know about the planned change and about different theories such as positive model, action research model. He should know when to implement different theories within the range of available interventions.
    Future trends: The OD practitioners maybe able to implement more skills and competencies in the future due to the changing methodology and technology with the pace of time. According to the research, mostly the managers are increasingly bringing change in the organization rather than the OD practitioners. Consequently, the OD process has been described as a general management skill.
